Compliance with all applicable environmental regulations is a priority at Amgen. To achieve this, internal audits are routinely performed at all our sites including manufacturing, research and development, and distribution facilities. Reports and action plans generated from audits are shared with a global team of environmental professionals who make sure appropriate corrective actions are implemented across the Company.

In 2007, Amgen received nine notices of violation (NOVs). Amgen is committed to taking timely and comprehensive corrective actions in response to all NOVs. In the area of wastewater, Amgen initiated a Global Wastewater Study. The initiatives resulting from this study improved compliance performance.
